[Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
I'm trying to install 3ds-dev on Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan with "dkp-pacman -S 3ds-dev", and it downloads all the packages but won't install them. This is the same case with every package not including 3ds-dev.
All the errors are "error: could not open file [package pathname]: child process exited with signal 5."
And the last error is always
"error: failed to commit transaction (cannot open package file)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded."

Make sure you use sudo when running dkp-pacman commands.

I have done that, but it still fails.

Re: [Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
delete your /opt/devkitpro folder then reinstall from the .pkg. Ensure you use `sudo dkp-pacman -S 3ds-dev`
If it still fails then post the complete output of your terminal including the command you used. Make sure you follow the instructions at https://devkitpro.org/wiki/Getting_Started#macOS

Re: [Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
Still fails.
Here's the terminal output:
It says it can't find a certain library but I can't find anything online on how to install it besides recovery mode.
I've figured out it's because I'm using an old version of Mac OS.
Here's the terminal output:

Re: [Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
Can you upgrade or are you stuck on 10.11?
There's a possibility I can rebuild pacman and it's dependencies for earlier systems but it'll take a while to get to. They were originally built with 10.12 SDK but with options for 10.9, I guess something went wrong somewhere.
Sorry it's not working for you right now.

Re: [Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
Could you archive and upload the file, "/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib"?
I believe it's technically a folder that Mac OS treats as a file so you'll have to archive it first in a zip/7z file.
You could use mediafire or something and just send the link, I'd appreciate that.
And nope. Can't update. Too old of a Mac. :/

Re: [Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
Please don't do this - you're likely to break your system since other applications will be dependent on that .dylib. You might be lucky but I really can't guarantee that won't go horribly wrong.colleen wrote: Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:43 pm Could you archive and upload the file, "/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib"?

Sorry to hear that. we'll see what we can do.And nope. Can't update. Too old of a Mac. :/
On the bright side, it seems like most of our pacman distro is working & it may just need 1 or 2 components rebuilt. That may make things easier.
Re: [Mac OS X] dkp-pacman fails to install any package
Mac OS 10.11.6 doesn't use that library. Nothing uses it below Sierra (10.12.6) uses the library. It wouldn't break anything, it would just be there for the programs that do use it such as dkp-pacman.
Actually I was able to find the library on Github.
