Problems installing devkitARM from hard drive

Post by Gandamar » Wed Jun 15, 2011 7:25 pm

Hey, guys! I'm new to this forum, but have been fiddling with devkitARM for some time now (on an on/off basis :P).

I recently wanted to resume my projects (in particular a Commander Keen 1 clone for the DS) but when I run the installer on my (offline) laptop it insists in trying to download the files instead of using the already downloaded files. How can I install it without having to download everything again?

Thanks in advance :)

Are you sure you have all the files it needs in the same folder as the installer? It used to work but admittedly hasn't been tested this way in a while.

Yep, I have everything in the same folder.

BTW, I just noted the installer changed the devkitproupdate.ini file with the latest files, instead of the ones it had when I last installed it. Maybe that's the problem. Unfortunately I'm in my office right now and the downloader isn't working properly (corporate proxy and/or firewall issues I presume) so I can't update it either.

Any ideas?

I solved the problem. I just changed the names in the .ini file and disconnected the computer from the network before installing. That prevented the updater from obtaining an updated file list.

Thanks for your time and help, Wintermute :)
