Oh man - I've got the touch test working. Knowing that that bin works for you, and that the touch test I tried failed, I recompiled the touch test (make clean ; make) and lo and behold.. it ran perfectly. I have a feeling my "experiments" had resulted in me mixing libnds 1.3.4 with the new default arm7, or something equally insane. I literally reinstalled all the devkitpro stuff to the latest tars just to make sure.

Anyway, many thanks for helping me get this sorted out.
