libwiiuse

Hi there,
I am a web developer, so i don't have much experience with C/C++, gcc compiling and everything.
So, this is my problem, i have a wiimote, and i want to use with mi pc (that is running ubuntu lucid 64).
i read on the web that this version of wiiuse works with several wiimotes.
I want to compile this version of wiiuse to get the libwiiuse.so, wiiuse.so etc etc, but i don't have any clue.
My other reason is that i am having a lot of problems with dolphin emulator, so maybe i can fork the wiimote plugin and try to help/fix, also i want to learn how to do it.
so my question, is this possible?
any can point me in the right direction?
any help will be rewarded with a lot off beer if you came to Uruguay.
