Gamecube USART (serial port)

Post by davidgf » Wed Jul 20, 2011 1:00 am

Hello!

I wanted some information about GC's serial port (it has two, or at least there are 2 connectors under the case).
I've seen there are some UART related routines at EXI subsystem.
Does anyone has a clue on how to use them? Some examples for example?

I want to be able to create peripherials for the GC, such as an ethernet device.

Thanks a lot!

David

The GameCube already has an Ethernet device, called the "broadband adapter," which is supported in libogc. As for the other ports, I've never heard of anyone even testing them beyond identifying the pins, so you'll probably be left with banging the appropriate registers yourself.
