grit can't find my png files

ok i had this problem a few times earlier but i don't know what it causes. so when i try to compile a png file in my gfx folder it gives me the error that it can't find it. but why?

What is the exact error message you get?

Is your makefile setup to automaticaly convert png files in your gfx folder?

yes my makefile is set up to do that, it just says : there is no directory ...blabla

I can't guess which error it is from this description. Paste the exact error man. :P

Maybe your VPATH isn't set with that directory.

the problem is this: ok compiled a succcesful project(with sprite animation!) and then i want to add another sprite, so i set my png file of it in the gfx dir and also the grit file but then it says:


no such file or directory :cry:

I'll ask again for the exact error message... Can you please copy and paste it?
Also, paste your makefile here, I'm sure the problem is very easy to fix. One more thing that might help is your directory structure. example:
/projectfolder
  • /projectfolder/gfx

    please tell me that there are absolutley zero spaces in any file names...
    if there are, then thats ur problem.

    and when someone asks for the error message, you should post it.
    they can't help you if they don't know whats wrong.

    do you have a walk2.grit file in animation/gfx/ ?
