Help setting up devkitARM

Hello! I was wondering if you could help me. I want to set up devkitARM on a Windows Vista Virtual Machine on my Mac for some ASM hacks for a NSMB hack i'm making. However, I keep on getting this error. Can you help? Thank you!

Why do you want to set up devkitARM in a Vista VM on a mac when there's a perfectly functioning OSX toolchain?

Mostly because i'm not too good with pearl scripts, and I don't understand the instructions. I have X-Code and Terminal. Can you give me step-by-step instructions?
