Portal confusing for newcomers

Post by AlexApps » Mon Jun 18, 2018 6:27 am

As a newcomer to devkitPro, I found it hard to find out information on the software. I think that more information about getting started with devkitPro should be added to the portal, instead of highlighted forum posts. As a beginner to this kind of stuff, I would be thankful on more info on starting out. These toolchains look really good, but there's no point if I'll never find out how to use or download them from the homepage.

Thanks for considering my idea :D

But it is in the front page... Look at the "Welcome Message", which is in the center and in the most prominent location...

I do agree that maybe the getting started link should perhaps be made a bit bigger, though.

That's good! It must have been added recently! It's really great that it's more clear now.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience

Just adding that last time I checked, instead of the welcome message being the getting started link, it was the birthday drive thread.
Sorry for not checking that it had been changed!

The Getting Started link was there, it was directly below the donation drive link. It was smaller text and only part of it was a link though.
