Do you have any good pointers to documentation on use of libgcov? It's not something I'm familiar with. It's also been quite a while since I've done anything with gp32 support :/

Are you using libmirko or the gp32 sdk? One thing I did plan to do but never got around to was add support to libmirko for the io subsystem hooks I added to newlib for devkitARM, that would give you completely standard filesystem IO and might remove the need to rebuild libgcov.
