devkitPPC fail on older Macs?

Post by iiW » Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:27 am

Is devkitPPC r22(+ libogc 1.8.6 + libfat 1.0.7 + Wii examples 20100930) supposed to be incompatible with G4 Macs running OS 10.4.11? Because it's incompatible with mine. Trying to compile anything results in 41 pages of errors. While that's kind of awesome in its own way, I think not failing would be even better. Is the problem with devkitPPC or this Mac?

It's kind of difficult to say without seeing at least some of the errors.

The binaries are intended to be powerpc and 10.4 compatible and did work fine for the two testers I managed to find.

Whew! Thanks for narrowing it down. That told me it was a problem with this Mac and it was... Basically easy to fix. Turns out bad things happen if you have C_INCLUDE_PATH set in .bash_profile and it points to a directory with contents named identically(but different otherwise) to contents in devkitPPC/powerpc-eabi/include. Err... I'm assuming the devkitpro toolchain IS supposed to pay attention to C_INCLUDE_PATH in .bash_profile, right?
