Help with manual installation - devkitARM release 32

Post by Anakclusmos » Mon Nov 01, 2010 2:14 am

My home pc is offline, so i had to download the files on my friends pc and transfer via flash. I cant figure out how to get it to work though.I've setup the enviroment vars DEVKITPRO and DEVKITARM and added the directory C:\devkitPro\msys\bin to the path but when i try to compile with the Programmers Notepad it says make is an invalid commy and.Can some tell me the detailed way to install devkitPro manually?

I had the same problem as you when I first started. it turned out that I never needed to do too much to install the whole thing on my system. All you have to do is:

1. DL all the stuff you need via the online installer (Download Only)
2. Put the stub installer and the downloaded packs in one directory.
3. Run the stub installer and install
4. Done.
5. Verify by opening any .pnproj file and tools->make.

It would also add the Path and environment vars automatically so you don't need to do anything more.

I have such a problem, too, but because I dont have admin-rights, i cannot install.

So I downloaded the devkitARM_r32-win32.exe file, and extracted the files.

But when I try to make a file and type "make" in the cmd, I get the error, that the command "make" is unknown.

So can anyone explain me easily, how to install this right?

srry for bad english^^

If you don't have admin rights then you obviously don't have permission to install software. Why is that?
