devkitPro 3.0.3 Windows 10 Installer Error

Post by sandpest » Sun Apr 14, 2024 8:39 pm

Hi there, having some issues getting the installer to complete appropriately. It fails to acquire keys at the beginning of installation as noted from the following log output. This is shortly followed by several error pop-ups stating "The code execution cannot proceed because msys-2.0.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." I've attempted reinstalling several times, disabling Windows Defender, and following the advice in this conversation from the issue tracker on GitHub: https://github.com/devkitPro/installer/issues/28

I'd be grateful for any advice on how to resolve. Thanks!

(EDIT: Had to delete emails from the logs to by-pass post filter.)

Re: devkitPro 3.0.3 Windows 10 Installer Error

This isn't failing to acquire keys, the error message is a WKD protocol failure with fallback, it's harmless.

I really don't have any idea why msys-2.0.dll is not being found later. I don't think gpg can run without it so it seems like it's getting deleted somewhere else.

The only real advice I have for this situation is to delete the devkitPro folder and msys-2.10.0.1.7z if the installer left it there then trying again. If that doesn't work then just delete the devkitPro folder and install msys2 from https://www.msys2.org/ then follow instructions to add devkitPro repos to that - wiki/devkitPro_pacman#Customising_Exist ... an_Install

If neither of those helps please get back in touch. We'll do what we can to figure it out.
